Rapper Sean Kingston in Critical Condition

Rapper/singer Sean Kingston is in critical condition in Miami following a Jet Ski accident, according to a report.

A law-enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity, confirms that Kingston, 21, was thrown from his Jet Ski after crashing into a bridge in Miami Beach around 6 p.m. local time and is now in critical condition at Miami's Jackson Memorial Hospital. It is reported that he was unconscious under water for a while, before being rescued.

A female companion who was on the Jet Ski with Kingston -- real name Kisean Anderson -- is said to have also been injured. 

The "Beautiful Girls" singer, who released a mixtape (King of Kingz) in February, is in Miami Beach for the city's Memorial Day weekend celebrations. Kingston was born in Miami.

UPDATE: Kingston's rep issued the following statement to TMZ: "Sean Kingston was in an accident today. No further details are available at the moment. He and his family thank everyone for the well-wishes."
