It's official Shane Brown joins Tarus Riley management team

Producer Shane Brown has joined saxophonist Dean Fraser as core members of singer Tarrus Riley's management. Fraser, who has played multiple roles in Riley's career in the past six years, told the Jamaica Observer that the move is strategic.

"All we really did is to make a little adjustment and interject Shane Brown into the management team," said Fraser, who produced Riley's last two albums.

Brown, one of the leading producers in contemporary dancehall, was recently sacked as deejay Busy Signal's manager after six years. He also co-manages singer Romain Virgo along with Vikings Productions.

Fraser says he is putting final touches to Riley's 13-track album, Love Situation, which is scheduled to be released this summer by VP Records. According to Fraser, the album represents Jamaican music in its deepest form. "With this album we will be taking it back to the genesis of reggae music," he said.

Fraser and Riley hit paydirt with Parables, the latter's outstanding 2006 album which was also distributed by VP Records. It contained the massive hit song She's Royal, as well as Stay With You and Pick Up The Pieces. Parables was well received in Jamaica and reggae markets throughout Europe and North America. There was lukewarm response to Riley's follow-up, Contagious.
