Spice & Missy Elliott - Another hip-hop, dancehall collaboration
Two years ago female deejay Spice lit the dancehall world with her Vybz Kartel combination Rampin' Shop, then she was at it again with the funny, cheating single Jim Screechie...now this time she is greeting the summer with the jazzy number titled simply — Fun.
The song, a collaborative efforts between Spice and American hip-hop star Missy Eliott and according to Spice it is one that music lovers will
just love.
"Fun is a summer song, I know everyone will love it as much as I do, because the beat is mad, the rhythm is mad and the lyrics is sick!" commented deejay Spice on her latest offering which was officially hit the streets yesterday.
Spice tells Splash that the 'fun' all began when her new management company, Movers and Shakers, presented the riddim, Wash Belly, to Missy Elliott's camp and she absolutely loved it.
"She jumped on it right away," said Spice adding that she had a ball performing at Missy Elliott's birthday party held in Miami on June 29.
Spice who was a surprise guest artiste at the event, noted that she thrilled Missy with her rework of Get U Freak On which she performed with Trina.
"Missy really 'tun up' the dancehall riddim, she did great," commented Spice on Missy's input on Fun.
The video for the single is expected to premiere on CVM TV's Onstage this Saturday, and according to Spice she is expecting both song and video to connect with local big time.
Spice who is booked to appear Dancehall Night on Reggae Sumfest will be fulfilling a few overseas dates before she heads to Montego Bay. On July 16 she makes a stop in Toronto Canada, before heading to the States for a series of shows — Connecticut, New York and Boston are among the scheduled stops.
