Craigy T stops recording with T.O.K

There are problems in the T.O.K camp. Group member Craigy T (left) has decided to discontinue doing studio recording with the group.

Craigy T announced his intention yesterday in a broadcast message sent on BlackBerry messenger. The message stated, "after careful consideration I have decided to stop recording in studio with T.O.K. You may still hear songs with the four vocals in the future but studio and public appearances are becoming increasingly difficult for the four of us to be present. I do not expect everyone to understand."

Yesterday, when contacted by THE STAR Craigy T confirmed that he had sent the broadcast message. However, as to whether he has officially left the group he could not give a definitive answer. He said, "it's not a situation where I'm sure as yet, I dunno what will happen."

In terms of what is currently happening in the group he said, "I don't really want to say much right now, a lot of feelings are in the air ... There is a lot of change you might hear tracks without me and tracks by myself."

As to what directly led to his decision to stop recording he said, "your working and feeling like the team you are doing work for is fighting against you than fighting with you ... I like to stand out, I don't like fitting in, I always like to be different and this is just a long time in the making."

The artiste said he feels like he needs the time away from the group to spread his wings personally.

Craigy T further said, however, that while not recording with the group they still haven't spoken in depth about it. He says he will be honouring all performance obligations until the end of the year.

T.O.K has been together since the early 1990s and consists of Alistaire 'Alex' McCalla, Roshaun 'Bay-C' Clarke, Craig 'Craigy T' Thompson, and Xavier 'Flexx' Davidson. The group is best known for hits such as Footprints, Gal You Ah Lead, Chi Chi Man and Eagles Cry.
